| My mom is always so very happy when I am home, and so very sad when I leave again. But we never do anything, ever. Now granted, my parents are not very “do stuff” kind of people. But we sit at home and watch TV every night! Not that there is anything to do in my town if I wanted to go out by myself. There’s wal-mart, and that’s about it. It’s sad. Also, there’s no internet, as my mom recently had it cut off because she never uses it. So, I’m so bored every time I go home, and I just don’t have fun. And my sister is mean to me. She’s fine for two or three days, then it’s all downhill. I’m going to loose control and clobber her one day, and it won’t be pretty. Therefore, I am going to have to do things over the break, by myself if necessary. I really need to hunt down all of my high school friends who I never get to hang out with anymore. And dance. Dancing is always good. I need to find some Tuscaloosa dancers to be friends with. But wait, here’s a better solution. Everyone finish with their exams and classes, then just stick around for another week or so. It will be the ideal college experience! No class, no stress! Such fun we will have. There could be dancing, parties, hanging out, movies, and in the day, I could actually get around to cleaning my apartment! This is a great idea, who’s with me? | | |
| Poor Xanga! I have negelected you shamefully. I have really got to do better. - I love west coast swing.
- I have had a Pussycat Dolls song in my head all day. NOT COOL!!!
- I am very much ready for Thanksgiving break.
- I never go home anymore, not because I don’t mean to, it just never happens.
- Group lab assignments that require work outside of lab are not cool.
- For those unaware, I make a great Goth.
- I was in a salsa exhibition. It went relatively well. I should compete (After tons more training, of course. What an expensive hobby/obsession).
- We are caught up at work, which means boredom and facebook.
- I really have to get on this whole grad school thing.
- I need a number ten. This is my number ten.
(Hopefully) more updates to come. Soonish. Rather than laterish. | | |
| We're probably having a masquerade for ballroom around halloween, which I have been campaining for since ballroom began, but I can't go. I hate the forestry club. Would it be unprofessional of me to yell at them and quit? Do you think I could get my $130 deposit back from that I paid for that trip? Maybe I'll just oversleep the morning they leave. It's happened before. I think I'll go cry some more. | | |
| I am so bad about the whole never updating my xanga thing ever any more. My feet hurt. I danced too much tonight, then I went to Jennifer’s uber cool party, where she gave me food, and danced some random hustle and meringue in the living room, and possibly hurt my ankle. Maybe not too bad. I think I will be alright. The cousins came to visit me this weekend to see the game, and it was fun. I love to have company. They discovered the awesomeness of Mugshot’s hamburgers. I only discovered it last week. It is awesome. Brandon does nice dips in waltz. They make me happy, and I am never at all scared that he is going to drop me. My AOL instant messenger broke, and this makes me very sad. I keep trying to use aim express, but it’s not the same. Not the same at all. I’m very excited about going to Europe. We found this amazing tour that’s possibly affordable. It goes the whole way down from London to Greece in three weeks. With many stops along the way, of course. It's just one of the many possibilities we are considering. Any guys interested in going to Europe with us to protect us from the forward European men should facebook me or Natalie or Laurin. http://efcollegebreak.com/public/itinerary.asp?type=all&tourcode=EUSB | | |
| My little cousin Tristan is now 6, and in the first grade. I swear, he grows another foot every time I see him. I got to see him this weekend. We ate pizza with my family, my grandparents, and my aunt (who is Tristan’s grandmother). He played around under the table, and ate an entire small pizza all by himself. He was also very impressed by my papaw’s scar down his chest. He just had open heart surgery about a month ago. Tristan is also very fascinated by swords. I have a replica of Sting from the Lord of the Rings movies that Natalie got me for my birthday a couple of years ago, and it is just the right size for him. Every time he comes to my house, we have to get the sword out. He always asks me if he can have it. I have to very firmly explain to him that it is my sword, and he cannot have it. He’s going to cut off a limb one of these days, and it won’t be cool. My great-aunt Betty (she’s probably in her late 60’s) taught me to jitterbug today. She was apparently a good dancer back in her day. She was telling me about how she and her brother used to practice in the middle of their living room. Also, when she was much older, she danced with the administrator of her hospital to In the Mood at a Marti Gras ball. She said that she tried to act professional and not dance all night, but when that song came on, she couldn’t help herself. I was showing her some cha-cha and waltz. And she loves my ipod. I never knew she loved swing music that much until today. It’s amazing the things you can learn when you start talking about dancing. Also, going on bike rides with large black German shepherds is quite fun. Especially when they behave. You, dear reader, should try it sometime. | | |
